Kisumu Rotary Youth Center

Kisumu Rotary Youth Center which we established in 1975 by Rotary club of Kisumu
to offer vocational training to local youth.
In a world of rapid change, the Rotary Club of Kisumu stands as a testament to the power of sustained,
community-driven development. The club, a guiding force of community service since 1963, has been
steadily transforming the lives of local youth through an innovative vocational training program.
It was 1975 when the club, with support from Rotary International’s World Community Service Program,
unveiled the Kisumu Rotary Youth Vocational Training Centre. What started as a humble initiative has
blossomed into a cornerstone of youth empowerment in the region.
“Walk through our halls, and you’ll hear the symphony of progress, the buzz of saws in carpentry class, the
hum of engines in motor vehicle repair workshops, the rhythmic beat of sewing machines in tailoring
sessions – it’s the sound of futures being built.”
In a bold move to bridge the gap between traditional skills and the digital age, they’ve launched an Incubation
and Innovation Centre. This new hub aims to catapult Kisumu’s youth into the 21st century economy,
offering market linkages, ICT services, online job platforms, and crucial entrepreneurship skills.
